The process involved\u00a0ovum pickup\u00a0from pure\u00a0Holstein Friesian specimens at the TRDF, followed by the #UVAS\u00a0embryology lab&#8217;s\u00a0maturation, fertilization, and culture of oocytes. Subsequently, the resulting\u00a0embryo was transferred\u00a0to a synchronized recipient, resulting in a successful pregnancy and the birth of a healthy calf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Chairman of the Department of Theriogenology &amp; Embryology,<\/strong> Dr. Irfan-ur-Rehman Khan, congratulated the\u00a0Embryology team under the guidance of Prof. Amjad Riaz, faculty members Dr. Ali Husnain, Dr. Talha Ashraf, and Dr. Muhammad Yaseen, postgraduate students Dr. Melaad and Muhammad Abdullah, and all the researchers, technicians, and staff involved in this groundbreaking project at the department and TRDF. He also said this achievement was possible only due to support from\u00a0the\u00a0university under the leadership of Emeritus\u00a0Professor Dr. Nasim Ahmad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad<\/strong> said that this achievement underscores the commitment to pushing the boundaries of scientific innovation in livestock breeding and also demonstrates the efficacy of advanced reproductive technologies in enhancing genetic progress and productivity in our cattle population. He said that locally producing purebred Holstein Friesian animals via IVEP not only lowers the expense of importing animals or embryos but also contributes to the nation&#8217;s sustainability while maintaining genetic integrity and milk production levels.
