Food Security Ministry Orders Departments to Submit Rightsizing Plans by January 13th<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Islamabad, January 9, 2025<\/strong> \u2014 In a major move towards administrative reform, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFS&R) <\/a><\/strong>has issued a directive to streamline its operations in alignment with the federal government\u2019s rightsizing policy. The Ministry has set a strict timeline, requiring all departments under its control to submit comprehensive implementation plans by January 13, 2025<\/strong>, with final reports to the Rightsizing Committee due by January 20, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative, backed by a Cabinet-approved framework, seeks to restructure and modernize federal entities under MNFS&R. The plan focuses on merging overlapping functions, devolving provincial responsibilities, and abolishing non-essential and vacant posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following is a list of all the departments and entities mentioned in the Implementation Plan for Rightsizing<\/strong> under the Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFS&R):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  4. Pakistan Oilseed Department (POD)<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Federal Water Management Cell (FWMC)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Agriculture Policy Institute (API)<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Federal Seed Certification & Registration Department (FSCRD)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. National Fertilizer Development Center (NFDC)<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Department of Plant Protection (DPP)<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Animal Quarantine Department (AQD)<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. Plant Breeders’ Rights Registry (PBRR)<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n

    These departments are expected to undergo significant changes, such as consolidations, staff reductions, and technology upgrades.
