Faisalabad:<\/strong> Director General Agriculture (Farms & Training) Punjab, Dr. Ishtiaq Hassan<\/strong>, has emphasized that transforming agricultural research into practical solutions for farmers is essential to raising productivity and ensuring sustainable growth in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairing a high-level meeting at the Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI)<\/strong>, he approved 90 research experiments<\/strong> and finalized the Annual Kharif Crops Research Program 2026<\/strong>, marking a significant step toward strengthening field-level agricultural innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Must Reach Farmers, Not Stay in Labs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Addressing agricultural scientists and officials, Dr. Hassan stressed that research must be farmer-friendly<\/em> and aligned with real-world challenges, particularly climate change. He noted that the central aim of every research initiative should be to increase per-acre yield<\/strong>, which directly impacts farmer income and national food security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He highlighted that adaptive research plays a critical role in bridging the gap between laboratories and farms. According to him, scientific findings should translate into practical recommendations that farmers can apply easily and promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

90 Experiments for Kharif 2026 Season<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The DG informed participants that ninety experiments<\/strong> will be conducted during the Kharif 2026 season. These trials will evaluate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
