PESHAWAR The Livestock and Fisheries Department is set to launch the Ehsaas Be Zuba n Sehat Gaari programme to modernise livestock healthcare<\/a> and improve service delivery in rural areas. This major initiative will provide free treatment and medicines directly to farmers at their doorsteps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has cleared two schemes under the Annual Development Programme ADP 2026 27 for the project. The initiative carries a total estimated cost of Rs1 billion<\/strong> divided into two separate schemes of Rs500 million each.<\/strong> One scheme will cover the settled districts and the other will serve the merged areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials confirmed that the programme will introduce 50 state<\/strong> of the art mobile veterinary clinics. The fleet will be split equally with 25 clinics<\/strong> assigned to settled districts and 25 to merged areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Direct Healthcare for Rural Communities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Ehsaas Be Zuba n Sehat Gaari will bring veterinary healthcare to remote and underserved regions where professional services have long been a challenge. Each mobile clinic will operate at the tehsil level. A qualified veterinary officer will head each unit supported by trained para veterinary staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These modern vehicles will function as fully equipped mobile veterinary hospitals. They will offer diagnostic preventive and emergency treatment services for livestock and poultry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key features of each vehicle include<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Digital connectivity linked to a central monitoring dashboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Ultrasound facilities and microscopes for blood and fecal examination<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Specialized vaccine and medicine storage units<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Surgical and obstetric kits along with communication equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • LED screens and sound systems for running awareness videos during field visits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Farmer Capacity Building and Awareness<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Beyond treating animals the initiative focuses on livestock extension and farmer education. Farmers will receive practical guidance on disease prevention vaccination schedules improved animal husbandry poultry management and modern production techniques. This effort aims to improve productivity reduce disease outbreaks and minimize economic losses for farming communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To ensure rapid emergency response each mobile clinic will be stationed at a designated Ehsaas Be Zuba n Sehat Gaari Station within its respective tehsil. These stations will maintain refrigerated storage facilities for vaccines and medicines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Upgrading the Existing Fleet<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The department will also upgrade 42 mobile veterinary clinics<\/strong> currently operating in settled districts by equipping them with modern diagnostic and treatment facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Additionally under the ongoing Integrated Livestock Development Programme in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the department has procured 25 mobile veterinary vehicles<\/strong> and 18 milk quality testing vehicles.<\/strong> The milk testing vehicles will feature modern analyzers capable of detecting milk adulteration antibiotic residues and aflatoxins to improve food safety and public health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Once fully operational this expanded fleet is expected to increase the outreach of the livestock and dairy development department by around 20 percent. The initiative represents a new service delivery model that brings essential public services directly to rural communities to support food security poverty reduction and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
