Interloop entered the dairy sector in 2013 and has steadily expanded to become one of the country’s largest individual players. Today, the group is pursuing vertical integration to transform Pakistan’s massive milk output into a modern, export-oriented supply chain.

Musadaq Zulqarnain, a UET-trained mechanical engineer who built a global textile enterprise supplying socks to giants like Nike, Adidas, Puma, and H&M, is now charting an ambitious path in agriculture. His conglomerate, Interloop Holdings, recently formed a 55 million dollar joint venture with Turkish dairy leader Rella Gida. The partnership aims to establish a dairy processing facility in Faisalabad to manufacture butter, specialty cheeses, and WPC80, the primary whey protein concentrate used in fitness nutrition.

The initiative, supported under the Special Investment Facilitation Council framework, represents an unprecedented push by a domestic group to build a vertically integrated supply chain focused on high-value dairy exports.

Interloop envisions establishing a commanding presence in Pakistan’s value-added dairy space, with plans to launch an independent consumer retail brand featuring premium dairy items within the next two to three years.

This model mirrors the end-to-end framework that historically drove Pakistan’s textile sector, where raw materials move from farm fields to finished consumer goods. While cotton farming and spinning have faced high energy tariffs and crop disruption, dairy remains exceptionally resilient. Pakistan ranks as the world’s third-largest milk producer, generating roughly 60 billion liters annually. Interloop’s commercial blueprint focuses on converting that liquid volume into high-value cheese, butter, and whey destined for lucrative international markets.
