The 30th Session of the Committee on Agriculture (COAG) will take place from 20 to 24 July 2026. The event will be hosted at the FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy, using a hybrid format that allows both in-person and virtual attendance.

It also brings together Member Representatives and FAO partners. The main goal is to share insights and establish a clear strategic direction for the work of the FAO. The overarching mission is to achieve better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life. This will be achieved by transforming agrifood systems to make them more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable, ensuring that no one is left behind.
During the 2026 Session, participants will dive into critical topics that match the core mandate of COAG. The discussions will focus on driving innovation in food security, developing the bioeconomy, and supporting the One Health approach. Delegates will also address climate resilience, the sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity, and sustainable land and water management. Additional key agenda items include the Global Plan of Action for Sustainable Livestock Transformation, alongside empowering women, youth, family farmers, and smallholders as vital leaders in rural development and poverty reduction.
