Job Opening: Research Associate for International Research Project
Virtual University of Pakistan is seeking a bright and motivated individual for the position of Research Associate on an ad-hoc basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an international research project aimed at enhancing the productivity of Pakistani buffalo breeds through genomic selection.
Position Details:
- Project Title: Genomic Selection of Pakistani Buffalo Breeds Through Genotyping Array for Enhancing Productivity
- Number of Positions: 01
- Duty Station: Virtual University of Pakistan, Rawalpindi Campus (with potential fieldwork in other cities)
- Duration: Initially 1 year (subject to satisfactory performance)
- Salary: Rs. 50,000 per month
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- MS in DVM/Animal Sciences, Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Bio Sciences/Zoology, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with lab work including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, RT-PCR, and basic bioinformatics software.
- Proficiency in scientific writing and fieldwork.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- IT proficiency is essential.

Age Limit: Candidates must be below 60 years of age.
Current Employees: Those already employed in government/semi-government positions must provide a ‘No Objection Certificate (NOC)’ from their current employer at the time of the interview.
Walk-in Interview: Interested candidates are invited to attend a Walk-in Interview on 12 August 2024 at 11:00 AM. The interview will be held at Virtual University of Pakistan, Rawalpindi Campus, College Chowk, Saidpur Road, F Block Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. Candidates should bring original educational certificates/degrees, experience letter, CV, CNIC, and one passport-sized photograph.
No TA/DA: Travel and daily allowances will not be provided for the interview.
