DRAP to Hold Track & Trace Training in Lahore Ahead of 2-D Barcode and Serialization Implementation
The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan has scheduled a hands-on training session for Punjab’s pharmaceutical industry as it moves towards implementation of its online Pharmaceutical Track & Trace System, including 2-D barcode and product serialization requirements.
According to an official notification issued by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), the authority is transitioning towards operational enforcement of its Pharmaceutical Track & Trace framework for manufactured and imported pharmaceutical and biological products.
The initiative is intended to establish end-to-end supply-chain traceability and provide a mechanism for product verification through a unified digital platform.
DRAP’s notification states that the mandatory deadline for 2-D barcode printing and unique product serialization is 9 October 2026.
Online Track & Trace System
DRAP has developed and deployed an online Pharmaceutical Track & Trace system to support implementation of 2-D barcode and serialization requirements.
According to the authority, the system will facilitate traceability and verification of regulated products manufactured after the applicable implementation date.
