Expert Committee Formed to Review PVMC Act 1996 and Draft Pakistan Animal Sciences Bill
Islamabad, July 1, 2025: The Ministry of National Food Security & Research (Livestock Wing) has officially notified the constitution of an Expert Committee to undertake a comprehensive review of the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC) Act, 1996 and critically evaluate the proposed Pakistan Animal Sciences Bill.

📌 Committee’s Terms of Reference (TORs):
- Review of PVMC Act, 1996: Legal and technical evaluation of the current act, identification of gaps, and recommendations for revisions or updates.
- Assessment of Proposed Pakistan Animal Sciences Bill: Strategic review of the bill’s scope and alignment with national priorities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Inclusive consultations with professional bodies, academic institutions, and public/private sector organizations.
- Recommendations: Practical proposals to enhance the legal and institutional effectiveness of veterinary governance in Pakistan.
