535 UVAS students get laptops under Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2023

LAHORE (30-1-23): Five hundred thirty-five talented students of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore were given laptops under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2023 here on Saturday.  Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Nasim Ahmed presided over the laptop distribution ceremony, and he, along with Project Director Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme/Focal Person Higher Education Commission Muhammad Majid Mustafa Khan distributed the laptops among the students, who were selected on merit from different disciplines and departments of the UVAS.

Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management Prof Dr. Muhammad Azam, Senior Tutor Prof Dr Ali Raza Awan, Director Information Technology Center Muhammad Rizwan Saleem, and a large number of students and faculty members were present in the PM Laptop distribution ceremony held in collaboration with Higher Education Commission at UVAS City Campus. While addressing the students in the ceremony, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed congratulated the students on getting laptops on merit and said that in spite of financial constraints in Pakistan, the government of Pakistan is equipping the youths with laptops under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2023. He urged the students to use laptops as a tool to excel in education and utilize this gadget also for earning through government initiatives like E Rozgar & Freelancing and play a vital role in boosting the national economy of Pakistan. He said our students are a real asset and have great potential to achieve their goals of life by utilizing their knowledge and skills. Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad shared that UVAS recently stood among top 801-1000 best universities of the world and 3rd in Punjab public sector in the Time Higher Education World University Rankings. He spoke about the history of UVAS and its campuses, various professional degree programs, and achievements. Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Majid Mustafa said that the government of Pakistan empowered students with laptops, and every brilliant student in Pakistan would be awarded a laptop on merit. He said the government of Pakistan and HEC always supported the initiatives of distributing laptops among students to enhance their hidden talents. He advised students to utilize their laptops for educational purposes to learn about innovative knowledge for a bright future and never sell and exchange their laptops because every laptop is associated with your ID number. Muhammad Rizwan Saleem presented the vote of thanks and lauded the effort of management & IT staff to arrange a successful laptop distribution ceremony.
