Multan, June 25, 2025 — The Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, Bahauddin Zakariya University (FVS-BZU), and the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA), Multan Chapter, signed two significant Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) today to enhance academic-industry collaboration and support veterinary students through paid internship opportunities and financial scholarships.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the FVS Committee Room and was attended by senior faculty members, PVMA officials and field experts. The event marked a vital step toward empowering students with practical experience and financial relief.

Under the first MoU, PVMA Multan will offer paid internships to 10 final-year DVM students from South Punjab. These internships will be provided in various sectors of the poultry industry, including farms, hatcheries, feed mills, and processing units. The initiative aims to provide hands-on professional exposure and improve the employability of young veterinarians.

The second MoU outlines PVMA’s commitment to provide scholarships to five (05) financially deserving DVM students enrolled at FVS-BZU. Each scholarship will cover a fixed amount of the students’ semester fees. Selection will be based on verified financial need, academic performance, and conduct, with a joint committee from both partners overseeing the process.

Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Faqir Muhammad, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, appreciated the meaningful collaboration with PVMA. “These initiatives reflect our shared vision of supporting students both academically and professionally. We are thankful to PVMA for stepping forward in this noble cause. I would also like to acknowledge the continued vision and support of our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Iqbal, who is deeply committed to promoting strong linkages between academia and industry.

His leadership is instrumental in fostering meaningful collaborations that enhance student development in line with national and international standards, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the challenges of the professional world,” he said.
