Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani Reviews Arrangements for CM Livestock Card Inauguration

Lahore: Punjab’s Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, emphasized Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s commitment to implementing policies that support farmers and cultivators. To achieve this goal, various initiatives are being introduced for the development and promotion of the livestock sector, in line with the Punjab government’s guidelines.

Kirmani made these remarks while chairing a meeting to review preparations for the inauguration ceremony of the Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card in Pakpattan, according to a handout issued by the department.

The meeting was attended by National Assembly Member Mian Ahmed Raza Maneka, Provincial Assembly Members Chaudhry Javed Ahmed, Sardar Mansab Ali Dogar, Mian Farooq Ahmed Khan Maneka, Mutia Masood Khalid, Secretary of Livestock Punjab Saqib Ali Ateel, Deputy Commissioner Sadia Mehr, Director General of Livestock, Additional Commissioner Khalid Gilani, Director of Agriculture and Livestock Sahiwal, Punjab Bank Representative Muhammad Asad, DPO, and officials from relevant departments.

The Minister assigned responsibilities to officers from various departments to ensure smooth arrangements for the inauguration ceremony, with a special focus on security measures due to the expected participation of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He stressed the importance of coordination among all departments to ensure flawless arrangements and security, warning that any negligence would not be tolerated.

Speaking to the media, Kirmani reaffirmed that, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision, the Agriculture and Livestock Department is working tirelessly to facilitate farmers. He noted that the target of 16.3 million metric tons for wheat cultivation has been successfully met, ensuring the country’s food security.

The Minister also announced that steps are being taken to provide 35 types of agricultural equipment, including green tractors and laser land levelers, to farmers through a balloting system. Additionally, both farmers and livestock owners will be issued Kissan Cards and Livestock Cards, allowing them to access interest-free loans.

Kirmani concluded by assuring that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, continuous efforts will be made to implement the best policies for the welfare and convenience of the public.
