Beijing-China: From August 18th to 24th, 2024, TDAP organized a trade delegation of 26 sesame seed exporters and growers to China. B2B meetings are planned in #Beijing, #Suzhou, and #Ningbo to boost Pakistan’s agricultural exports and strengthen ties with key Chinese importers.
With Pakistan exporting US$ 283.5 million worth of sesame seeds to China last year, this delegation aimed to unlock new opportunities and expand its market presence.
Hafiz Saad Bin Mustafa, Oilseeds Research Scientist at the Ayub Agricultural Research Institute, Faisalabad, presented at the Sesame #B2B Conference held at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Beijing. The Embassy was pleased to host this event, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan-China agricultural cooperation.
As sesame transforms from a minor to a cash crop, we are poised to further enhance exports and attract Chinese investment. Pakistani and Chinese enterprises had a fruitful exchange, exploring the true potential of sesame in bilateral agricultural ties. The Pakistan Embassy in China played a crucial role in arranging these B2B meetings, fostering sector-specific outreach central to our economic relations.
The delegation is comprised of a diverse group of stakeholders, including experienced exporters, farmers, and industry experts. Their participation reflects the growing importance of sesame seed cultivation and trade within Pakistan’s agricultural landscape.
