The Vice Chancellor praised YFTC’s seven decades of achievements, noting its role in cultivating both forests and talent while advancing regional well-being. He recalled his two visits to Yunnan province and YFTC, where he was impressed by the dedication of the college’s leadership and faculty.
Calling it the “right time” to deepen academic exchanges, Prof. Shah stressed the importance of mutual learning. “We exchange students, we exchange faculty, we develop programs together, and we learn from the lessons of history,” he remarked.
He further revealed that the collaboration would gradually extend beyond forestry and agriculture. “We plan to expand into areas like tourism and hospitality, business management, and economics. In the future, we also hope to welcome YFTC students to study at KIU,” he added.
“As Yunnan Forestry Technological College celebrates this milestone, I look forward to further collaboration in diverse disciplines. Once our students join YFTC, they will truly become part of this growing partnership,” Prof. Shah said.
