The Middle East and Africa veterinary healthcare market is projected to reach $6.91 billion by 2033, supported by rising pet ownership and growing demand for better animal production systems.
VetHealth to Focus on Five Key Animal Health Segments
Headquartered in the UAE, VetHealth will work across both the commercial livestock sector and the companion animal market. The company will operate through five major divisions:
- Pharmaceuticals
- Biologicals
- Biosecurity
- Nutrition
- Diagnostics
Through these divisions, VetHealth aims to support animal farms, feed mills, veterinary clinics, pharmacies and government entities involved in animal care and food-producing animal biosecurity.
Animal Health Linked With Food Security
Al Khayyat Investments said the new investment reflects the growing role of animal health in food security, public health resilience and sustainable economic development. The initiative also supports broader regional priorities, including the UAE’s National Food Security Strategy 2051.
The company plans to combine its healthcare experience and regional distribution network to provide veterinary solutions in partnership with regional and international animal health companies.
Leadership Comments
Zaid S. Al Khayyat, Managing Director of Al Khayyat Investments, said animal health is a strategic enabler of food security, public health and long-term economic resilience. He said VetHealth is being developed as a regional platform connecting governments, producers, veterinary professionals and global partners with trusted solutions.
Malik Hassan, General Manager, AKI Environmental – VetHealth, said the company is committed to supporting professionals, institutions and industry stakeholders working to improve animal wellbeing and strengthen sustainable food production in the region.
Why This Matters for the Veterinary Sector
The launch of VetHealth shows that animal healthcare is now attracting serious investment across the Middle East. The focus is no longer limited to treatment only. Modern veterinary healthcare now includes disease prevention, farm biosecurity, diagnostics, nutrition, companion animal care and food safety.
For countries like Pakistan, this development is also important because the livestock, poultry, dairy and veterinary pharmaceutical sectors are directly connected with food security and rural economy. Regional investment in animal health may open new opportunities for collaboration, distribution, technical partnerships, diagnostics, vaccine access and farm-level biosecurity solutions.
