Islamabad, January 27, 2026 –
Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced plans to deploy an AI-based chick counting and production monitoring system across poultry hatcheries, aiming to improve transparency and curb revenue leakages in the sector.

The proposed system will digitally monitor the production of day-old chicks (DOCs), including broiler, layer, and breeder-hatchery operations, according to official documents.

Under the plan, the FBR has invited bids from technology vendors to supply, install, and operate AI-driven monitoring systems at key stages of hatchery operations.

These systems will use computer vision, IoT-enabled incubation monitoring, and real-time analytics to record chick production data and transmit it to centralized computing units for secure record-keeping.

Key highlights

  • AI-based system to monitor day-old chick (DOC) production
  • Coverage includes broiler, layer, and breeder hatcheries
  • Real-time data integration with FBR central database
  • Nationwide rollout under PPRA-compliant procurement process

Participating vendors will also be responsible for ongoing technical support, system maintenance, and periodic software updates to ensure long-term efficiency and compliance with FBR regulations.

Under the plan, the FBR has invited bids from technology vendors to supply, install, and operate AI-driven monitoring systems at key stages of hatchery operations.

The monitoring platform will be fully integrated with the FBR’s central database, allowing authorities to reconcile hatchery output by chick category, batch, and production cycle.

Bidding vendors will be required to demonstrate a live proof-of-concept at operational hatcheries, including performance validation in temperature-controlled, high-humidity, and bio-secure environments.
