Federal Government Engages Faisalabad Exporters to Strengthen Pakistan’s National Export Roadmap

The Federal Government continued its nationwide consultative drive to reinforce Pakistan’s export ecosystem, with a high-level engagement held in Faisalabad, one of the country’s most dynamic industrial hubs. These consultations are part of a broader series initiated under the Prime Minister’s directive, following earlier sessions in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Sialkot, aimed at shaping a comprehensive and time-bound National Export Roadmap.

The Faisalabad session brought together exporters, industrial representatives and leadership from key chambers of commerce to identify pathways for improved export competitiveness, sectoral performance review, and policy-based facilitation.

The meeting was led by:

  • Mr. Jawad Paul, Secretary Commerce, Government of Pakistan
  • Mr. Saif Anjum, Secretary Industries & Production / Ministry of National Food Security & Research

Prominent participation also came from:

  • Mr. Farooq Yousaf, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI)
  • Mian Bakhtawar Tanveer Sheikh, President Multan Chamber of Commerce
  • Khawaja Yasir Qayum, President Sargodha Chamber of Commerce

Senior members from local trade associations and Faisalabad’s exporter community also contributed their insights.

As the trade promotion arm of the Ministry of Commerce, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) facilitated this engagement to support structured dialogue and ensure alignment between government priorities and industry needs. The discussion focused on identifying challenges, enhancing export-led growth, reducing operational barriers, and strengthening coordination across sectors—particularly textiles, agro-value chains, dairy, livestock, and allied industries.

The feedback gathered during the session will form part of the Government’s evolving National Export Roadmap, designed to improve Pakistan’s global market access, streamline regulatory processes, and position the country for sustained export expansion.
