Beijing, September 4, 2025 — Pakistan achieved a major milestone in One Health and AI-powered diagnostics as Eastern Laboratories (Pvt) Ltd. signed a landmark cooperation agreement with Yunjian Medical Group at the 2nd China-Pakistan B2B Investment Summit, held during the launch of CPEC 2.0 in Beijing.

Mian Muhammad Shahbaz, CEO of Eastern Laboratories (representing Pakistan’s diagnostics sector), and Chen Limin, CEO of Yunjian Medical, signed the MoU. The Prime Minister praised the initiative, calling it a symbol of Pakistan’s growing role in AI-driven healthcare, and assured full government support for investors under CPEC 2.0.
Eastern Laboratories – Pakistan’s Flagbearer in One Health
Eastern Laboratories, under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Shahbaz, has pioneered Pakistan’s One Health model, integrating human, animal, and environmental health under its vision “One Lab – One Health.” Its services include food safety diagnostics, veterinary diagnostics, and human health diagnostics, reinforced by international QMS and ISO standards.
Yunjian Medical – Global AI Health Innovator
Yunjian Medical, rooted in Stanford University research and Zhejiang University’s Binhai Industrial Institute, is a leader in AI diagnostics, multi-omics, and biomarker discovery, driving precision healthcare worldwide.
Prime Minister’s Endorsement
In his keynote, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised China’s economic achievements, reaffirmed the special Pakistan–China relationship, and emphasized making Pakistan a “Mini China.” He also stressed early implementation of projects including ML-1, the Karakoram Highway realignment, and Gwadar Port operationalization.
He highlighted CPEC’s contribution to Pakistan’s socio-economic growth over the past decade and assured rigorous follow-up on all MoUs and agreements signed at the summit.
Strengthening Pakistan–China Ties Through One Health
This MoU marks a new era of collaboration in health and science between Pakistan and China. With Eastern Laboratories as Pakistan’s flagbearer of One Health, the partnership with Yunjian Medical will:
• Accelerate AI-powered diagnostics in Pakistan.
• One Health innovations across Food, veterinary, and Human diagnostics health.
• Promote the “One Lab – One Health” framework.
This milestone positions Eastern Laboratories not only as a pioneer in Pakistan but also as a regional leader in One Health collaborations, reinforcing Pakistan–China ties under the vision of CPEC 2.0.
