Merit-cum-Inaffordability Scholarship Scheme 2025–26
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Foundation (KPEF) invites applications from freshly enrolled students across the province for the “Merit-cum-Inaffordability Scholarship Scheme 2025–26.” This program aims to support deserving students who are academically outstanding but financially challenged.

Established in 1992 under an Act of the Provincial Assembly, the KPEF is a corporate body dedicated to the promotion and development of higher education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through financial assistance, teacher training, and skill development initiatives.
📚 Eligibility Criteria:
- ⭐ Applicant must have secured at least 70% marks in the last examination or 3.00 CGPA in each semester.
- 📌 Applicant must possess a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa domicile (including merged districts or ex-FATA).
- 🎓 Admission must be secured in an approved educational institution (as listed on KPEF’s official website) in Pakistan, and the applicant must be enrolled in the first year of a BS or MS program.
- 💰 Parents’ or guardian’s monthly income must not exceed Rs. 160,000/-.
- 📖 Scholarships are available for 1st-year students of BS and MS programs.
- 💼 Eligible study fields include:
- Emerging Sciences
- Engineering Sciences
- Management Sciences
- Health Sciences
- General Sciences
- Arts & Humanities
- ⚠️ Students availing any other fully funded scholarship are not eligible.

🖥️ Application Procedure:
- ✅ Applications can only be submitted through the KPEF online scholarship portal.
- 🧾 No paper or manual applications will be accepted.
- 🎯 In each discipline, only the top 10 candidates will be shortlisted for interviews.
- 🏫 Interviews will be conducted at university campuses by the KPEF Scholarship Committees.
- ⚖️ Scholarships will be awarded equally among male and female students. In case of no applicants in one category, slots will be shifted to the other.
- 📈 Renewal will depend on academic performance (minimum 3.00 CGPA or 70% marks), otherwise KPEF reserves the right to discontinue the award.
