The receipt of nomination papers does not by itself constitute final confirmation of candidacy. Under the official PPA election schedule, the nomination papers are to be scrutinised by the Election Commission on 17 August, after which the list of candidates is to be displayed.
Objections to nominations may be filed with the Election Commission on 18 August 2026, while the Commission is scheduled to decide those objections by 19 August. A candidate aggrieved by the Election Commission’s decision may proceed to the Regulator from 20 August, with the relevant appeal process scheduled to run up to 26 August 2026.
According to the official schedule, the subsequent process includes withdrawal of nomination papers and publication of the final list of candidates. Where an appeal reaches the Regulator, the Election Commission is to issue the final list following the Regulator’s decision; the schedule provides for this stage around 27 August. Where no appeal is filed with the Regulator, the schedule provides for issuance of the final candidates list by 29 August 2026.
Polling for election of members of the PPA Executive Committee is scheduled for 2 September 2026 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Nominations for office bearers from among the elected Executive Committee members are scheduled for 3 September, scrutiny for 4 September, and polling for office bearers for 5 September 2026.
